Dear Lynn & John, We havebeen following your blogs over the past 2 years but did not know how to replyuntil I was playing catch up with a few and I read at the bottom I can justemail back. So apologies for not. Notsure how I missed that.
Part of us are jealous of your travels butanother part is not sure with all the problems you have along with the heat. I must admit when you said you were takinga year out to travel I thought surely it won’t take a year to travel Australia. Then you posted an overlay with Australia over Europe. So now I understand the vastnessof the country. For the first year of Covid we just carriedon helping Pamela with the children. So that kept us busy and still does. Last year we went to Pebbles hotel or a fewdays which was nice and some friends from Yorkshire drove up twice to stay fora few days and we went by train Sept last year to stay with them. We were supposed to drive down to them onSunday but we are just back from a 2 week holiday in Tenerife and testedpositive for covid a week after we returned. Isabel’s first time with covid andmy second. So Sundays trip is cancelledespecially as Judith had/has bone cancer although she is currently fit and wellwe are not taking any chances. They are driving up for James 8thbirthday middle of July for a few days and will stay with us. Norman & Judith were neighbours when weall lived in Alnwick, Northumberland with our children the same age. They have no grandchildren and James & Normanget on very well. If fact Norman has bought James 2nd hand BMX bikeso he can do stunts etc and a full face helmet although it’s a secret untilthey give the bike to him. James already does BMX but has to hire bike etc sothat will save Pamela us some money. We will visit them for a few days either Aug/Sept time.
I read your reading list and spotted IanRankin. I read Set in Darkness and while on holiday read his “Black and Blue. Iain’s book have anEdinburgh theme . Two other authors I like are Stuart Macbride and Iain Banks, and recently read one of CaroleLawrence books Edinburgh Twilight” I buy my books for my Kindle now andread about 7 different ones while on holiday for 2 weeks. I usually search kindle books starting withthe cheapest so usually don’t spend more than £1 on them. Anyway enjoy your travels and will keep intouch
Hello John and Isabel
So good to hear from you. I have been thinking about you and wondering how you all are.
I’m glad you are following our travels. You will know we are having a wonderful trip. Yes we’ve had a few dramas but far more great experiences!
Australia is a huge country. We are barely scraping the surface. I’d be happy to keep travelling forever but not John.
We have been surrounded by covid, most of our family has had it. But we have managed to avoid it so far.
Take care and keep in touch!
Some great reads there, Lynn! Geez I want your life right now ????
